Transitioning Into Care:
We believe that the early days in our care set the foundation for a positive, long-term experience for your child. To ensure a smooth transition and foster a sense of security, we have designed an onboarding process that gradually introduces your child to their new environment over a minimum10-day to two-week period. This approach helps infants, wobblers, and toddlers adjust comfortably and learn our daily routines at their own pace.
Why Gradual Onboarding?
Comfort and Security: Young children thrive on familiarity and routine. By starting with shorter days and gradually increasing the time they spend in care, we give them the chance to feel safe and secure in their new surroundings.
Building Relationships: Our educators use this time to build strong, trusting relationships with your child. This is essential for their emotional well-being and helps them feel more at ease when they are in our care.
Routine Adjustment: Infants, wobblers, and toddlers need time to adapt to new schedules and routines. A gradual onboarding process allows them to adjust at a pace that is comfortable for them, reducing stress and promoting a smoother transition.
The Onboarding Process:
Visits: A minimum of 2 visits with parents or family before beginning care.
Initial Short Days: For at least the first few days, your child will attend shorter sessions. This allows them to get acquainted with the new environment, caregivers, and peers without feeling overwhelmed.
Gradual Increase in Time: Each day, we will gradually extend the time your child spends in care. This steady increase helps them adapt to the new routine and develop a sense of normalcy.
Observing and Adjusting: Our educators will closely observe your child’s adjustment and comfort levels throughout the onboarding period. If necessary, we will make adjustments to ensure your child feels secure and happy.
Benefits of Our Approach
Reduced Separation Anxiety: A gradual transition helps minimize separation anxiety for both the child and the parents.
Enhanced Learning: As children become comfortable, they are more likely to engage in activities and routines that promote learning and development.
Positive Long-Term Experience: A smooth and gentle start sets a positive tone for your child’s future experiences in our care.
Our goal is to make this transition as seamless and positive as possible for your child. By taking the time to carefully onboard infants, wobblers, and toddlers, we are laying the groundwork for a happy, confident, and successful journey in our care. We look forward to partnering with you to ensure the best start for your child.
Drop-off and Pick-up
Drop-offs and pick-ups will be separate for each classroom. Infants & Wobblers will drop off at their back door and Toddlers on the front yard.
The goal is for parents to say goodbye to their child at the gate/door. If your child needs a bit of transition time (especially during the first couple of weeks) can
